dark shapes
(dark shapes) is a capsule collection of biomorphic eyewear. The project extends the practice of Filippo Nassetti Studio into the development and sale of independently designed products, materialising ideas of postnatural computation, expressive biomimicry, body architecture, and digital fabrication, into physical and functional objects.
(dark shapes) envisions eyewear as an extension of the human body. It merges anatomy and architecture, creating protective wearable structures that extend perception. Biomorphism is both a logic and an aesthetic of form: continuous curvature, structural patterning, differentiated thickness, and smooth transitions.
(dark shapes) originates from a meditation on the primal role of the Sun in shaping terrestrial form: the emergence of complex morphologies through cycles of emission and absorption unfolding across deep time. The name also refers to the first perception of an object, as it enters the visual field. Before recognition and interpretation, before cultural categories and associations. The raw, uncut, pre-linguistic impression of form.
The resulting objects are 3D printed in Digital Acetate, a manufacturing process that materialises geometries unattainable through conventional production while directly translating computational design into physical form. The technology also enables on-demand manufacturing, limited editions and one-off pieces, reducing waste by eliminating the need for large production runs and inventory.
The capsule collection will be presented in Paris at SILMO26 (Sep 25-28 2026). The project will then continue and this page updated regularly as progress unfolds.
